This capacity building program begins by training individuals to become children's class teachers and/or tutors of junior youth groups. As these activities become established the parents and other interested individuals are involved and trained in the same activities. When there are a sufficient number of activities in a neighborhood those who are involved continue the process of defining and implementing futher service activities for their neighborhood. As the junior youth move through the three year program they finish by being able to be trained as new childrens class teachers and some of them are advanced enough to be able to become trained as tutors for the junior youth program. The Foundation supports the childrens class teachers and the tutors with regular meetings throughout the year to identify strengths that are being developed and areas that need further attention.
The materials for the childrens classes and the junior youth groups is taken from the Ruhi Institute process which has been implemented in more that 100 countries world-wide. The develpment of these materials is also on-going and the goal is to have six years worth of materials for children and another three years for the junior youth.
Besides being open to any youth or adult in the city of Mexicali, the program has now been approved by the Social Service administration of the Autonomous University of Baja California for First Stage Social Service for all university students.
The Program will start up again on Saturday, 18 February 2017 at 10 A.M.
